Heat treatment
Fundo has three plants for heat treatment of precipitation hardenable aluminium alloys, two of which are automatic. The most common heat treatment is called T6. The recipe for the T6 heat treatment is adapted to the product. Normally, the recipe includes dissolution at 530 – 545°C, quenching in hot water and then aging at 160 – 180°. Each batch is checked regarding hardness.
